ABOUT OUR METHOD

ABOUT OUR METHOD

The method that we have been developing for almost 20 years originated from the combination of our own personal and professional development.

By using the methods generated within the body-oriented psychotherapy and the neo-Reichian Core-energetics, we keep our focus on the body. In that way, our emotional and psychic processes become more integral, and the different levels on which we approach the person are mutually supported and complemented. Moreover, we follow the entire psychic process through the framework of the object relations theory and attachment theory, by using the map of prepersonal, personal and transpersonal development, and in line with the most recent discoveries in the area of neuropsychology.

In practical sense, this means that we connect the instinctive impulses, and the emotional and mental processes to breathing, to the sounds and movements of the body, like hitting the mat with fists, legs or with the whole body, in order to help the client to connect with an authentic expression of frustrations and the subsequent submission to the needs hidden behind the frustrations. By using body movements – whether these refer to hitting with hands, legs or stick – we enable the client to discharge the tension and help him/her to connect and accept the estranged emotional aspects linked to frustration. In parallel with expressing the frustration, the client also becomes connected with his/her own vulnerability and sadness behind which lie their own authentic needs. The purpose of this aspect of our work is to help the client to return to his/her own real impulses and needs, and to gradually find an adult way to satisfy them in their own everyday life.

Apart from the above mentioned, we also use different methods dealing with vibrations in the physical body, which enable the traumatic energy to get out of the body and its nervous system. When we support this process by body movements, it gradually leads to a change in breathing. At the same time, we use different breathing techniques through which we release and change the rhythm of breathing, thus bringing it back to its instinctively free and natural flow. It is this liberation of breathing, the release of the diaphragm and other muscles taking part in the breathing process that helps us and releases the emotional pain, making way for the pleasure that takes over when our body and our psychic nervous system are not unconsciously burdened by avoiding and concealing the emotional pain.

The breathing techniques that we use also help us to experience the certain emotions more deeply and to develop a capacity to carry them in our own body-energy system. These processes relieve the person of any burdens, and they also include the release of the voice that had been repressed. When spontaneously making sounds, the body and the psychic system become more deeply released, which enables more spontaneous reactions and more intense perception of the reality of life.

Along with the movement, breathing and voice, we also use the direction of intention. By using the psychic energy through the certain directing and focussing techniques, a person gains experience of setting the limit, of confronting another person and expressing their wishes in a way that will make the other person feel and understand them.

In our approach, we put the emphasis on working with recognition, expression, acceptance and purification of the negative intention. In this way, we encourage our clients and the participants in our programmes to consciously choose the positive intention in achieving their life goals.

Therefore, our work is based on the purification of the negative intention of the Lower Self through recognition, acceptance, expression, research and transformation. We believe that the true personal growth could be possible only through the transformation of the Lower Self, and we also believe that this aspect of ourselves cannot be transcended unless it was recognised, accepted and taken responsibility for.

We support our methods with the views coming from different theoretical models of psychological and spiritual schools, which we then confirm in practice. Experiential and process-related aspect of our work is what makes this type of personal growth so specific. It enables us to understand different theoretical frameworks and ensure their application in everyday life.

Finally, we believe in the evolution of the system, that is, we believe that our system, as well as our methods, could never be completed, but are continuously developed and upgraded. The system that claims to be complete and unchangeable becomes a dogma, and it cannot sustain being open to fresh life.

OUR PROGRAMMES

Therefore, the vision that we follow through our own intention and activity includes a permanent improvement and upgrade of the training system that we have developed.

Our school, that is, the four-year training, represents the core of our educational work involving the theoretical and experiential approach to personal development, including professional therapy work, as well as the integration of the therapy-related findings and skills into other types of work.

After acquiring the abovementioned basis, the participants may continue our training through a bi-annual postgraduate programme focused on the integration of personal sexuality and leadership with the internal, permanent and essential personality, i.e. through the integration of the external separated ego with the internal, core personality.

Along with the postgraduate programme, following the completion of the four-year training, the personal development of our participants may be continued through the intensive programme of a direct experience of selfhood, that is, through the further integration of ego and deeper personality.

In terms of professional development, the training may be continued through intensive supervision programmes, which are both, theoretical and experiential.

All of the aforementioned trainings include individual therapeutic and supervisory work providing professional assistance in the confrontation and healing of different aspects of an incomplete ego.

Furthermore, the work of the CID includes a series of regular lectures on the topics dealing with psychodynamics and spirituality, together with one-day workshops where those who are interested may come into contact with our work for the first time and experience its basics.
